One two-sided original letter from Mr. John E. Hobbs who writes of praise by a banker, “I think you have turned out a very fine vehicle of which the makers and the users may well be proud. I may say it is the first of the kind I ever saw.”

A review of the patent found on the Library of Congress site reveals that J. E. Hobbs filed his patent along with Attorney B. M. Wentworth in 1897.
